Following photoblog has been contributed by my son Yash Wardhan who has visited the Lake last month along with friends.
यह फोटोब्लाग मेरे बेटे यश वर्धन की प्रस्तुती है जो पिछले महीने वहाँ दोस्तों के साथ गए हुए थे ।

*****

An awesome sight really! Clear blue skies, bright sun, not a soul to be seen, whispering wind & simmering water. Unbelievable!

The Pangong Lake is situated at a height of about 14270 ft. The Lake is about 134 km long and it's 5 km wide at its broadest point. Nearly 82 km of it lies in Tibet. Max depth of the Lake is 100 mtr.

Though it has saline water but it gets frozen in winter. It remains open for tourists from May to Sept & visit is allowed only on permits as Line of Actual Control passes through the Lake. From Leh it is five hours tough drive. Lake has no fish & boating is not permitted.

Several films including 'Dil Se' & '3 Idiots' have been shot here.
